Our mission statement empowers us to strive for personal growth whilst also recognising that we should do what we can to bring out the best in everyone around us. If we can do this then we can and will change the world for the better.
As a Catholic school we are proud of our faith and our unique identity. As a school family we live and breathe our school motto: ‘Love one another’ and as a result, behaviour at St Christopher’s is outstanding.

CATHOLIC SOCIAL TEACHING (CST)

“Little children, let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth.”- 1 John 3:18 (ESV)

Catholic Social Teaching (CST) is rooted in Scripture and it guides us how we can live out our faith as followers of Christ in our local, national and global community. As head of the church, the Pope guides us in how we can apply the scripture to our modern day lives and how the Church can respond to the challenges we face in our modern world. Pope Francis’ shared his own thoughts in his recent encyclicals Laudato Si’ (2015) and Fratelli Tutti (2020). Every half term at St Christopher’s School we have a CST principle. We begin with Scripture so that our pupils gain a deeper understanding to connect them with our faith.

Catholic Social Teaching, (such as dignity in the human person, the option for the poor, standing with those suffering injustices, and caring for creation), calls us to live our faith through our actions. The consequences of the ecological crisis compromise human life, disproportionally effecting the poor and vulnerable, those contributing the least are suffering the most.

“Love and charity, are service, helping others, serving others. There are many people who spend their lives in this way, in the service of others. … When you forget yourself and think of others, this is love! And with the washing of the feet the Lord teaches us to be servants, and above all, servants as He was a servant to us, for every one of us.”

Jo from the Fr Father Hudson’s charity led the school in a special assembly appealing for us to collect any spare change we can to help them support the elderly in our areas. It was a Lent appeal but we carried it on after Easter in order to collect as much as possible using old jars or takeaway containers to put the money into. As always, thank you to our community for all you gave.

We did it! Our Mini Vinnie’s counted an incredible 9️⃣2 boxes! Thank you so much to everyone who donated to our appeal. All of these boxes will be handed over to the

SVP St Christopher and St Thomas of Canterbury – Codsall & Tettenhall who will donate these cereals to families in our school and parish.

A big thank you to everyone who contributed filled shoe boxes to the Samaritan’s Purse appeal. We had over 80 boxes in total (a combination of donations from St Christopher’s and Christ’s Heart Church) which will be sent around the world to make Christmas special for many children ♥️

✝️ Our Mini Vinnie’s are becoming famous! News of the children’s charitable work has reached London! Today we received a special parcel along with a certificate and a letter for thanks from the head office team. Well done children! First the capital city, next stop the whole world!

✝️ Our Mini Vinnie’s assisted at the SVP St Christopher and St Thomas of Canterbury – Codsall & Tettenhall Christmas party at church. Children, we are so proud of you. You were a credit to our school and were so polite and caring to all of the parishioners and volunteers. It was beautiful to see the children open doors for the guests, help people sit down, hand out cups of tea and ask parishioners if they needed anything. Well done children. Following our cake sale and raffle, we shall now order the gifts for the families supported by the SVP. Thank you to everyone for you love and support.

Our Mini Vinnie’s Cake Sale raised an incredible £268! Thank you so much to everyone who supported this lovely event – we are so grateful to you all. This money will be used to buy presents for families being supported by SVP St Christopher and St Thomas of Canterbury – Codsall & Tettenhall.

Today we had a visit from Severn Trent Water. The children enjoyed an assembly about ‘ The wonderful world of water’. We learned about the water cycle, the process of cleaning our water at the treatment works and ways of conserving water at home.
